Since your interest is solely to provide relay assistance as needed or to respond with observed or measured weather information when a hurricane threatens your area, please understand, membership is NOT a requirement for either role.
As an effort to maximize your effectiveness, let us offer few suggestions.just a couple of simple points, as follows:
When available to provide relay assistance during our net operations, we ask that you please respond only when our net control station has made a specific request
for assistance from outside our own membership.
When available to report observed or measured weather conditions when a storm threatens your area, we ask that you review and become familiar with this reporting form provided by the National Hurricane Center. Note that it lists only the elements of interest, the format desired in the report, and the basic order of reported information they are looking for. Your assistance to follow the guidance on that form will be greatly appreciated by all.
Again, you need not be a member of HWN to participate as a reporting station or to provide relay assistance when requested. We encourage and request
